November 30, 2020
Three high-ranking officials tested positive for COVID-19, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Monday.
In a press briefing, PNP chief General Debold Sinas said Northern Police District chief Brig. General Ronnie Ylagan, Firearms and Explosives director Brig. General Rommil Mitra, and Brig.General Joey Runes from the Office of the Chief PNP were infected.
“I implemented here what I did in NCRPO (National Capital Region Police Office).I adopted the regular testing and there will be a certain period that everyone will undergo swab (test),” Sinas said.
“So the result was released during the command conference... they were not able to attend because they are positive and it’s good to know that we have early detection,” he added.
Due to the incident, Sinas said they will conduct targeted testing inside Camp Crame.
As of Sunday, the PNP has 8,103 COVID-19 cases with 7,707 recoveries and 26 deaths. Ella Dionisio/DMS
