Total coronavirus cases reach 76,444; active cases 50,563

Total new cases of the coronavirus disease ( COVID-19) surpassed 75,000 on Friday after 2,103 were reported for the day by the Department of Health ( DOH).
The total is now 76,444,of which 50,563 are active cases. The DOH said 90.15 percent are mild cases, followed by asymptomatic with 8.93 percent, severe 0.49 percent and critical 0.43 percent.
Once more, majority of the new cases come from the National Capital Region with 1,272. Cebu is next with 291, Laguna 107, Rizal 83 and Cavite 53.
There were 15 new deaths, bringing the total to 1,879. Of the new deaths, thirteen are from Central Visayas and once each for Central Luzon and West Visayas. No deaths were reported from NCR.
The DOH said 11 deaths happened this month, three occurred in June and one in April.
There were 144 patients who overcame COVID-19, raising total recoveries to 24,502. DMS
