Total COVID-19 cases surpass 70,000; bulk of new cases from NCR

The Department of Health ( DOH) said Tuesday new coronavirus disease ( COVID-19) cases reached 1,951 and for the sixth day, the bulk came from the National Capital Region ( NCR).
Total cases are at 70,764 of which 45, 646 are active, it said. Out of the active cases, mild accounted for 91.1 percent, asymptomatic, 8 percent; severe 0.4 percent and critical 0.5 percent, the DOH said.
New cases from the NCR were 1,464 or around 75 percent of the day's report. Cebu Province had 90, Laguna 74, Cavite 53 and Rizal 36, DOH said.
Two deaths were reported, the lowest since March 24, putting the total to 1,837. There were 209 patients who survived COVID-19, bringing total recoveries to 23, 281. DMS
