Tricycle driver runs away with Japanese’s belongings in Iloilo

A Japanese national lost her belongings after the tricycle driver left her while she alighted to buy bottled water in Iloilo City last Thursday, police said.
La Paz town police station chief Inspector Jerwin Serbano told the Daily Manila Shimbun in a phone interview Friday the incident happened around 7:40 pm at Lapuz district.
Initial reports disclosed the victim came from Bacolod City. Arriving at the port terminal, she rode a blue tricycle going back to her boarding house in Jaro town.
Serbano said the tricycle driver was able to take two laptops, four cellphones, some personal stuff and cash amounting to 20,000 yen.
Authorities are conducting follow-up investigation. The Japanese could not recall where she bought the bottled water. Ella Dionisio/DMS
