Tropical depression off Batanes may become storm in 24 hours: PAGASA

A low pressure area east of northern Cagayan has developed into a tropical depression which will cause intermittent moderate to occasional monsoon rains in six areas, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Wednesday.
The weather disturbance, named Inday, was located 660 kilometers east-southeast of Basco, Batanes with maximum winds of up to 55 km per hour and gusts of up to 65 km per hour as of 10 am. It is moving east at 15 km per hour..
PAGASA said Inday could develop into a tropical storm in the next 24 hours.
Scattered light to moderate with heavy rains at times are expected over Metro Manila. Cagayan Valley, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna and the rest of Central Luzon until Friday. DMS
