July 9, 2020
Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade ordered MRT-3 to dispatch buses at stations at 4 am instead of 5:30 am starting Thursday.
This was announced by Assistant Transport Secretary Goddes Hope Libiran in a message Wednesday.
MRT-3 Director for Operations Michael Capati said that following Tugade's directive officials got a commitment from owners of bus companies to start deploying buses at 4 pm.
Early dispatch of buses will shorten the long lines of commuters waiting for rides, especially in morning rush hour.
MRT fielded 90 buses, which leave every three minutes, as train operations were temporarily suspended from Tuesday to Saturday after its personnel were found infected with the coronavirus disease ( COVID-19).
There were 202 personnel which tested positive for COVID-19 as of Wednesday. DMS
