Two accosted by Mandaluyong cops for riding motorbike

A doctor and a media person were accosted by Mandaluyong police last Thursday after they were found riding in one motorcycle which is prohibited during the enhanced community quarantine.
In a report from Eastern Police District (EPD), Jose Lejano and Maria Estrella Zaldivar were caught by police manning the control checkpoint in Shaw Boulevard corner San Miguel Avenue in Barangay Wack Wack, around 11 am violating the riding -in- tandem guidelines set by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).
Lejano and Zaldivar argued with the police officer and remained uncooperative insisting they did not violate any law as they are both frontliners.
The two were brought to the Criminal Investigation unit of Mandaluyong City Police Station and were later issued an Ordinance Violation Receipts for violating riding -in-tandem guidelines.
The EPD has yet to say if the two were fined. Ella Dionisio/DMS
