Two arrested in Batangas for throwing chemical substances into river

Two persons were arrested in Batangas last Wednesday for throwing chemical substances into a river.
The Batangas Provincial Police Office (BPPO) said around 5 pm Wednesday they received a report from barangay officials in Sabang and Bayudyud in Tuy municipality about persons throwing chemical waste into the river, where foamy substances were created.
Authorities went to Brgy. Bayudbud around 6pm and they caught the two suspects cleaning 16 drums containing the chemical substance which they spilled into the river.
The suspects will face charges for Toxic Substances and Hazardous and Nuclear Wastes Control Act of 1990 and Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000. Ella Dionisio/DMS
