Two BIFF members, medic killed in law enforcement operation

Two members of Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) were killed in a joint law enforcement operation in Maguindanao on Sunday night. Capt. Arvin John Encinas, spokesman of the Army’s 6th Infantry Division, identified the slain bandits as Raul Angkay alias Dok, a medical officer of the BIFF and his cousin was pinpointed as a certain Edz Angkay Dalending. He said combined elements of 601st Infantry Brigade, 603rd Infantry Brigade, Criminal Investigation Group of Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and PNP Shariff Aguak were conducting law enforcement operation when they neutralized the bandits at the vicinity of at Barangay Poblacion in Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao around 9:35 pm. Encinas noted that Alias Dok is listed in an arrest order for the crime of rebellion issued by the Department of National Defense following the declaration of Martial Law in Mindanao. He said during the operation the government authorities recovered are one caliber 45 pistol and one fragmentation grenade from the bandits. “The personalities were turned over to Philippine National Police (PNP) Shariff Aguak for proper disposition,” said Encinas.
