Two more alleged NPAs involved in Del Monte incident arrested

Two more alleged members of New People's Army (NPA) were apprehended by government troops in Misamis Oriental on Thursday as it continues to pursue those who were behind the burning of service providers of Del Monte Philippines Inc.
1Lt. Jefferson Mariano, civil military operations officer of the 58th Infantry Battalion, said arrested were Edgar and Lope Virtudazo.
Mariano said they were apprehended following the series of gunbattles in the areas of Balingasag and Claveria, Misamis Oriental.
"Captured on their possession were homemade shotgun, several ammunitions, magazines, and subversive documents," he said.
Mariano said the two were identified as accomplices in the Del Monte incident at Barangay Bulahan, Claveria.
He said the two rebels were pointed out by alias James who was captured on the first encounter last Wednesday. Robina Asido/DMS
