Two policemen shot dead in Palawan ambush

Two policemen were ambushed by unidentified armed men in Palawan as they responded to a vehicular accident on Sunday morning.
In a report by Philippine National Police ( PNP) Mimaropa regional director Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Licup, PO3 Alexander Mimbalawag and PO1 Julpetri Gustaham were shot dead along Sitio Nagtakayan, Barangay Bato, Taytay, Palawan at 10:50 am.
At 8:30 am, the Taytay municipal police station received an information about a vehicular accident between a bystander and a motorcycle.
Mimbalawag, the duty investigator, and PO1 Gustaham along with a team from the 401st Regional Mobile Force Company as convoy.
After investigating the site of the accident, the team went to the patrol car at 10:35 am and returned to the Taytay police station.
When the team reached So. Nagtakayan of Brgy. Bato, they were ambushed by undetermined number of uindentified armed men which resulted in the death of Mimbalawag, who drove the patrol car, and Gustaham.
Licup ordered all units to be on alert and to tighten their security measures. DMS
