Two soldiers, two militiamen wounded in Maguindanao blast

Two soldiers and two militiamen were wounded in an explosion in Maguindanao on Friday morning.
Lt. Col. Alaric Avelino Delos Santos, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Western Mindanao Command public information officer, said the explosion happened in the vicinity of Barangay Salman, Ampatuan, Maguindanao.
Delos Santos said the personnel of the Joint Task Force Central were conducting mine-clearing operations when an anti-personnel mine exploded.
Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan, Jr., head of the Western Mindanao Command, said the four were evacuated by the responding team to Tamondong Hospital for medical treatment,” he said.
Vinluan said the ground forces remain steadfast in the implementation of pre-emptive measures to prevent security lapses.
Joint Task Force Central Commander Maj. Gen. Juvymax Uy called on the public to support government troops in its fight against local terrorist group.
“I call on the peace-loving people to please pray for the safety of our soldiers as they continue to clear and secure the communities to thwart the hostile plans of the lawless group”, Uy said. Robina Asido/DMS
