Typhoon deaths near 100, says PNP report

Deaths from last week's Typhoon Ompong neared 100, with more than coming from the Cordillera Administrative Region when a landslide buried a bunkhouse in a mining town, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Friday.
In its report, the PNP said fatalities reached 95, with 79 coming from Cordillera. Deaths in Cagayan Valley amounted to 10, three in central Luzon and two at the National Capitol Region.
Missing persons were placed at 54, with 50 in Cordillera, the PNP said. DMS
