August 15, 2017
The Land Transport Franchising and Regulatory Board dismissed the motion for reconsideration by Uber Transport Systems after it was suspended for a month on Monday,. In a resolution after a meeting on Tuesday, the LTFRB said: "The respondent USI (Uber Transport Service) has not only defied the terms and conditions of their certificate of accreditation but a clear violation of the latest order of the Board." "The respondents ( Uber) are being directed by the Board to cease this practice and to prevent the further escalation in the number of accredited peers who were accredited by the TNCs (Transport Network Companies) after the issuance of the moratorium," it said. "This will pose regulatory problems with the Board pending the review of the regulations on the TNCs and TNVS ( Transport Network Vehicles Service)," the LTFRB said. Uber Transport Systems filed on Tuesday morning a motion for reconsideration. It said that its services, which were suspended since 6 am "will continue until the motion is revoked." The LTFRB on Monday suspended Uber for continuing to accept additional accreditation of new accounts despite being ordered to cease on July 26. DMS
