UPDATE Deaths from ”Ulysses” reach 67: NDRRMC

Deaths from Typhoon ''Ulysses'' has reached 67, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Monday morning.

The tally is lower than 69 announced on Sunday, but NDRRMC spokesman Mark Timbal said although this figure '' may be used'', this is still being validated.

''When updates come tonight (Sunday) and tomorrow (Monday), figures may be adjusted and may go up or down due to findings of the validation,'' said Timbal in a message.

According to NDRRMC as 10 am, a total of 22 fatalities were recorded from Cagayan Valley, two from Central Luzon, 17 from Calabarzon, eight from Bicol, 10 from Cordillera Autonomous Region and eight from NCR.

The NDRRMC said 13 were still missing while 21 were injured.

Two of the missing victims are from Calabarzon, eight from Bicol and three from NCR.

Nine of the injured came from Calabarzon, eight from Bicol, three from Cagayan Valley and  one from Cordillera.

The NDRRMC said damage to infrastructure and agriculture in the affected regions supassed two billion pesos.

A total of P2.14 billion damage to agriculture were recorded in Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Bicol and Cordillera Autonomous Region. Damage to infrastructure amounted to P482.85 million in Ilocos, Mimaropa and Bicol regions.

There were 523,871 families or 2,074,301 individuals affected by ''Ulysses'' in NCR, Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol and Cordillera Autonomous Region. Robina Asido/DMS
