June 2, 2019
National Capital Region Police Office chief Major General Guillermo Eleazar on Saturday urged the public to be responsible in sharing videos online after a brutal shooting incident that happened in India gone viral but was wrongfully captioned to have taken somewhere in Caloocan City.
In the investigation conducted by the Quezon City Police District Anti-Cybercrime Team, it found out that the incident transpired in Dwarka, Delhi in India last month.
Eleazar said that in the video, a tarpaulin with DICS logo was seen. The logo was an advertisement for Delhi Institute of Computer Science and a plate number on one of the motorcycles showed that it was not in the Philippines.
The QCPD- Anti-Cybercrime Team said the video was posted on two media accounts in Youtube on May 19, 2019.
Eleazar slammed irresponsible people who posted the videos with malicious intent.
The video stating the incident happened in Caloocan City could not be found anymore on social media sites. Ella Dionisio/DMS
