Yuchengco, RCBC chairman emeritus dies

Alfonso Yuchengco, chairman emeritus of Rizal Commercial Banking Corp., (RCBC) passed away last Saturday, the bank said in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange on Monday. “Our bank is mourning the untimely demise of our chairman emeritus, Ambassador Alfonso T. Yuchengco, who passed away last Saturday April 15, 2017,” said RCBC in its disclosure. No details on wake were immediately available. Yuchengco, 94, was former ambassador to China during the time of President Corazon Aquino and Japan during the tenure of President Fidel Ramos. He set up Great Pacific Life Insurance and later formed pre-need company Pacific Plans Inc. Later, he acquired a controlling stake in RCBC. DMS
