Zamboanga City barangay councilor killed

An armed man killed a newly elected village councilor in Zamboanga City on Saturday morning.
Police Chief Insp. Helen Galvez, public affairs office chief in Police Regional Office 9, identified the victim as Michael Tinaytina Magallanes, 38 years old, a resident of Betty II, Sta. Catalina.
Initial report said Magallanes was leaving his house on board a motorcycle when unidentified assailant shot him several times causing him to fall at the pavement.
The suspect fled to the inner direction of Betty II, Sta. Catalina and exited along the alley of Betty IV going to the direction of Ortega Tetuan in the same city.
Magallanes was rushed by his neighbor to Zamboanga Doctors Hospital but was pronounced dead after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds.
Authorities were able to recover five empty shells of alleged caliber .45 and two slugs.
