Japan claims 11th medal, record at Winter Olympics

Pyeongchang, South Korea- Japan claimed its 11th medal at the Pyeongchang Olympics in South Korea on Wednesday, a record for the country in the history of the Winter Olympics.
The 11 medals are made up of three golds, five silvers and three bronzes.
The previous record of 10 medals, including five golds, was marked at the 1998 Nagano Games in Japan.
On Wednesday, Japan captured its third gold at the Pyeongchang Olympics, as its speed skating trio of Miho Takagi, Ayano Sato and Nana Takagi won the women's team pursuit final, the country's first title in the event.
Miho Takagi became the first Japanese woman to win gold, silver and bronze medals at a single Olympics. She won silver in the 1,500 meters and bronze in the 1,000 meters at the Pyeongchang Olympics.
The other Japanese gold medalists at the Pyeongchang Olympics are figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu and speed skater Nao Kodaira. Jiji Press
