10 police officers from NCRPO relieved due to inaction on illegal gambling
February 8, 2020
Ten National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) officers were relieved from their posts due to inaction on illegal gambling.
Acting NCRPO Regional Director Major General Debold Sinas on Friday said these were chiefs of police, seven commanders and an officer-in-chatrge station commander.
Their names were not earlier revealed in an earlier press conference but termination of designation were released on Friday.
The dismissed policemen were Colonel Hermogenes Cabe, force commander assigned in Eastern Police District; Colonel Noel Flores, chief of police in Caloocan City Police Station; Colonel Dario Menor, force commander in Northern Police District; Colonel Gerardo Umayao, Muntinlupa City Police Station's acting chief of police; and Colonel Bernard Yang who is Pasay City Police Station's chief of police.
The police officers' termination took effect Friday.
"Their relief was done following the instruction from the Chief PNP PGen Archie Frnacisco F. Gamboa pursuant to his 'one strike policy' guidance on illegal gambling," Sinas explained.
"The notion is that, if there is inaction, most probably, the PCP commander is 'on the take' or cohort of the illegal gambling operator s in their areas but this will be further investigated," he added. Cristina Eloisa Baclig/DMS
