12 die from COVID-19: DOH

A 56-year-old man late Sunday became the 12th death in the country due to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), according to the Department of Health (DOH).
Total number of COVID-19 cases have reached 140.
The DOH said the man "expired evening of March 15 due to Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome, secondary to COVID-19, and was reported to have pre-existing asthma."
Data showed the man had a history of close contact with three other COVID-19 cases.
The patient from the City of Manila began experiencing symptoms of fever and cough last February 29. He was admitted to the Makati Medical Center on March 7, and was confirmed positive for COVID-19 on March 9.
Earlier Sunday, the DOH reported three more deaths: an 86-year-old American male, a 40-year-old man and a 64-year-old man, to bring the total fatalities to 11. DMS
