13 alleged ”ninja cops” now inside PNP
October 8, 2019
The 13 alleged ''ninja cops'' are now at the Personnel and Holding Accounting Unit inside Philippine National Police ( PNP) headquarters.
Police Brigadier Bernard Banac, PNP spokesperson, said in a press briefing cops involved in the controversial 2013 Pampanga drug raid are in Camp Crame for them to be available for investigation.
"They are here so that they will be available anytime there is a Senate hearing or for the DILG (Department of Interior and Local Government) or the review being conducted by DOJ (Department of Justice)," he said.
Last week, the cops were placed on floating status.
The 13 cops, with Police General Oscar Albayalde, the POP chief, attended Senate hearing on the ''ninja cops'' issue.
These cops conducted a anomalous raid while Albayalde was the acting provincial director of Pampanga police.
On the naming of two colonels said involved in this, Banac said they will immediately validate any information President Rodrigo Duterte will announce.
"We will conduct a background check so that we can file a case against the officials," he said.
Asked on the status of Albayalde, Banac said his leadership continues while Duterte chooses the next head of PNP.
"He is ready to retire," the police spokesperson said. Ella Dionisio/DMS
