15-foot crocodile believed to have killed fisherman caught in Palawan

Authorities on Saturday captured a 15 feet-long crocodile believed to have killed a 33-year-old man in Balabac, Palawan last November 27.
Superintendent Imelda Tolentino, spokesperson of the Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan) police said Monday members of the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development and Philippine Coast Guard caught the crocodile around 2 pm on December 1.
The crocodile measures 15.6 feet long, 29 inches wide and weighs around 500 kilograms. It will be brought to a crocodile farm in Palawan.
Last November 28, authorities recovered the mutilated body of a fisherman believed to have been attacked by a crocodile in Sitio Bual, Bgy. Malaking Ilog, Balabac.
Police identified the body as Cornelio Bonete, 33, of Barangay Poblacion 5 whom relatives reported missing since November 27 after he went fishing.
Balabac records no less than five incidents of crocodile attacks since last year. Ella Dionisio/DMS
