234 PNP personnel, half from NCRPO, positive for COVID-19
May 18, 2020
The Philippine National Police (PNP) said a total of 234 personnel tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), of which half are from the National Capital Region (NCR).
As of Sunday, the PNP recorded 705 probable cases, 540 suspected cases, four deaths and 69 recoveries.
In a radio interview, PNP chief General Archie Francisco Gamboa said only two cops tested positive for COVID-19 were asymptomatic.
“Half of this came from NCR. Maybe because they are the most exposed because of the checkpoints,” Gamboa said.
For their confirmed cases, the PNP prepared quarantine and isolation facilities inside Camp Crame which include the Kiangan Billeting Center and its taekwondo gym. Ella Dionisio/DMS
