March 12, 2020
The Department of Health ( DOH) said Wednesday night that a patient with coronavirus disease died in Manila.
"The reported death is the patient with ID PH35 confined at Manila Doctors Hospital in Manila City," the DOH said in a statement.
The health department said it is gathering and validating more information on the reported death.
The patient from Manila Doctors was the second COVID-19 fatality in the country. A 44-year old Chinese national died last month while being treated in San Lazaro Hospital in Manila.
With the second fatality, the DOH reiterated its call to the public to follow its official accounts and to only source information on the COVID-19 health situation from official DOH channels. Celerina Monte/DMS
