4 dead, one critical after drinking “lambanog” in Laguna

Four died and one is in critical condition in another food poisoning incident after drinking "lambanog" or coconut wine in Santa Rosa, Laguna, Wednesday afternoon.
In an initial report of Santa Rosa City police, they received a phone call around 5 pm about this incident. Investigation showed the six victims drank Bossing Tumador, a brand of pure lambanog, and consequently experienced stomach ache.
Roy Basbas, 65; Gonzalo Camangon la Torre, 50; Hermino Caramay, 65; and Severino Callos, 65 were brought to different hospitals but were declared dead.
Antonio Jeremias, 70, who was brought to the Philippine General Hospital, is still unconscious. Robert Cruz, 48, is in stable condition.
Police recovered an empty plastic bottle of the liquor. Investigation on the incident is still ongoing. Cristina Eloisa Baclig/DMS
