November 2, 2020
Five people died and four others were injured in Catanduanes during the onslaught of Super Typhoon "Rolly," Governor Joseph Cua said on Monday.
Cua said this during the televised press briefing of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
The NDRRMC made its first contact to Catanduanes after it was isolated by the typhoon as communication lines bogged down.
The government used the satellite phone of the military to contact with Catanduanes officials.
"Five drowned when they were crossing the river," Yap said.
NDRRMC Executive Director Ricardo Jalad said that relief assistance will be flown to Catanduanes on Tuesday. Celerina Monte/DMS
