51 Chinese victims arrested by NCRPO in Paranaque

Around 51 Chinese victims were rescued and 13 Chinese maintainers were arrested by the National Capital Region Police Office ( NCRPO) in an entrapment operation Wednesday evening.

NCRPO chief Major General Guillermo Eleazar said the operation transpired at a wellness spa located inside the Diamond Bay Tower in Barangay Baclaran, Paranaque City around 11:45 pm.

It resulted to the arrest of 13 Chinese maintainers, 18 Chinese customers, 51 female Chinese victims and seven Filipina witnesses.

They found out the services range from P9,000 to P21,000 depending on the rooms the customer will avail.

“There are 30 rooms and seven VIP rooms,” said Eleazar told reporters.

Eleazar said the operation stemmed from a report they received an alleged prostitution den is being operated by the foreign nationals.

“We found out that this (den) has no business permit and occupancy permit. Meaning this building is not yet finish but being used for prostitution,” he told said.

“Most of them are tourists, a few of them have working visa,” he added.

The NCRPO chief said the Filipina witnesses told him that they clean the rooms at least five times a night.

He said Filipino customers can only enter the den if they have Chinese companions.

Asked on what will be the responsibility of the owner of the establishment, Eleazar said they will investigate on it.

“We will check the liability (of developer) and we can file a case against them if proven based on our investigation that they are involved or tolerated the used of this facility in illegal activities,” he said.

They were able to recovered evidences intended for alleged prostitution activities and confiscation of P1.8 million which is consider as proceed of their illegal activities.

Arrested suspects and customers will face violation of Republic Act 9208 or the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2008.

“Meanwhile, the victims will be process by the DSWD of Paranaque City government and then their disposition will be based on the assessment by the Bureau of Immigration to check if they have proper documents,” he said. Ella Dionisio/DMS
