6.7 magnitude quake hits Surigao City

An earthquake with magnitude 6.7 struck Surigao City Friday night and the Philippine Institute of Volcanology (Phivolcs) said in its bulletin it is expecting damage and aftershocks.
The quake's location was 14 kilometers north, 63 degrees west of Surigao City, a Phivolcs bulletin said. It occured at 10:03 p.m.
Intensity 6 was recorded in Surigao Cit, Intensity 2 in Bislig and Intensity 1 in Cagayan de Oro.
The quake was tectonic in origin, said Phivolcs. DMS
