78 percent of cops facing admin charges are patrolmen: PNP

Around 78 percent of police officers facing administrative charges are patrolmen , the head of the Philippine National Police Internal Affairs Service (PNP-IAS) said Sunday.
IAS Inspector General Alfegar Triambulo said those arrested were for extortion and illegal drugs.
Of the 190,000 police officers and personnel in the country, 47,383 are patrolmen while 11,025 are patrolwomen, PNP spokesman Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac added in a text message.
Records show 375 police officers have been dismissed after testing positive for using illegal drugs since July 2016.
A total of 95 police scalawags were arrested by the PNP Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG). Seventy-six were dismissed while 12 were suspended and seven demoted. DMS
