Davos, Switzerland--Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Wednesday asked world business leaders to look forward to the future of the Japanese economy.
He made the request at a meeting with Stephen Schwarzman, chief executive officer of U.S. investment firm Blackstone, and other business leaders in Davos, Switzerland.
As chair of the Group of 20 summit to be held in the western Japan city of Osaka in June, Abe said he will work hard to strengthen his country's growth potential and formulate a sustainable and inclusive growth strategy for the global economy.
Meanwhile, Abe met with Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, who took office earlier this month, to ask for the South American country's cooperation over the G-20 summit.
The two agreed to promote cooperation in a variety of fields.
Abe also chatted with Swiss President Ueli Maurer, confirming that the two nations will cooperate to ensure stable and sustainable world economic growth. Jiji Press
