March 27, 2020
Armed Forces of the Philippines chief of staff General Felimon Santos Jr. was tested positive for coronavirus disease.
Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana confirmed this to reporters in a text message on Friday.
Lorenzana said he had two close encounters with Santos in the past days, thus, he would also be on self-quarantine effective Friday.
The military has been helping the police in the implementation of enhanced community quarantine in Luzon and general quarantine in other parts of the country. Celerina Monte/DMS
