The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) may get a third party to help them in changing the system in the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) following the death of a plebe due to alleged hazing.
"The programs that have to be reviewed are ongoing. We might get third party people that can help us look into what systems have to be changed in PMA," AFP Chief of Staff Lt. General Noel Clement told reporters in Camp Aguinaldo on Monday.
"What were going to change there is not only three, how we train our cadets but probably even how the officers they are assigned there perform their respective duties in as far as training the cadets are concerned," he said.
"It's going to be an institution wide... so that we can have a long term solution on our problem on hazing," he added.
Clement said probably the military '' will get a member from the academe and even former graduates so they know what is going on in ( the) PMA," he said.
It can be recalled that last month Cadet Fourth Class Darwin Dormitorio died due to alleged hazing.
His death prompted the conduct of investigation and the resignation of PMA Superintendent Lt. Gen. Ronnie Evangelista, and the Commandant of Cadet, Brig. Gen. Bartolome Bacarro. Robina Asido/DMS
