The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said there is no specific destabilization threat monitored against President Rodrigo Duterte.
"Everytime we have a new president, there is always that possibility that someone wanted to remove him from his post, but for now there is no specific threat that we monitor," Col. Noel Detoyato, AFP Public Affairs chief said Monday.
"There are a lot of information that come up but there is no specific threat, and we don't see those threat to materialize because we have a very strong AFP, we have a very strong PNP, and we see very strong support coming from the Filipinos for the administration," he noted.
"There may be some individuals who are thinking of ousting the president but it will never, never materialize," he added.
The PNP also noted the possible destabilization plot against the president after the videos that featured a man known as alias Bikoy become viral.
The videos reportedly tag former government officials and election candidates close to Duterte to illegal drug trade.
It can be recalled that last year, the government announced the possible destabilization plot against the president which was called Red October.
The military previously mentioned a coalition of communist group and political opposition were behind the plot. Robina Asido/DMS
