AFP will control security outside quarantine center in Nueva Ecija

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to control security outside the drug rehabilitation center in Nueva Ecija which will be used as quarantine sites for Filipinos returning from China.
Maj. Gen. Lenard Agustin, commander of the 7th Infantry Division, said only the outside portion of the the Mega Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Magsaysay will be guarded by the military.
"On the security we will control the outside portions of the facilities but right inside it will be all Department of Health," he said.
Agustin said based on the plan, there will be no chance that the government troops will be in contact or will be exposed to the Filipinos from China who will have to undergo the 14 day quarantine.
"Based on the plan immediately they will be transported going here in Fort Magsaysay and then they will directly go to the facility so there will be no whatsover contact with my troops," he said.
When asked about the possible protest actions, Agustin said the Philippine National Police (PNP) are expected to support them on handling possible protesters.
"It has to have the support and help of the PNP, their civil disturbance management unit," he said. Robina Asido/DMS
