Albayalde on 10-day official visit to US

Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Oscar Albayalde is on a 10-day official visit to the United States after he was invited by the Federal Bureau of Investigation to attend their counter-terrorism seminars and meetings.

“Our chief PNP, Director General Oscar Albaylde is still on his 10-day official visit in United States and he is expected to be back by Monday,” Senior Superintendent Bernard Banac, PNP spokesman, said in a press briefing on Tuesday.

“In his absence, the designated officer in charge is Police Deputy Director General Archie Gamboa,” he said.

In an advisory, Banac said the meetings and seminars will be from March 12 until 22.

Albayalde believes terrorism has become a global threat and his presence to this event will enhance understanding between the Philippines and US forces.
