Alleged drug suspect killed in Laguna

An alleged drug suspect was killed in a shootout in Laguna last Wednesday.

Police Colonel Eleazar Matta, Laguna provincial police director, identified the suspect as Leandro Pacheco alias Bong, 51.

A joint anti-illegal drug operation of the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) and Pakil Municipal Police Station, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency was conducted at the home of Pacheco at Brgy. Burgos, Pakil.

Matta said Pacheco sensed that he was dealing with a police poseur buyer prompting him to immediately draw his firearm and fired on the police officer. The officer returned fire which hit Pacheco.

Authorities confiscated a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet worth P9,000.
