Alleged NPA arrested in Bulacan

An alleged member of New People’s Army (NPA) was arrested in a joint military and police operation in Bulacan on Thursday.
1Lt. Catherine Hapin, public affairs officer chief of the 7th Infantry Division, did not give the name, but she said he operates in Bicol.
Hapin said the alleged rebel was arrested at Barangay Bigte, Norzagaray, Bulacan at 10:30 am yesterday.
“There had been information provided by the people in the community that led to the capture of the communist terrorist,” she said.
Hapin said “the arrested rebel has standing warrants of arrest for murder and multiple frustrated murder issued in 2011.”
She said the rebel was placed in the custody of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) for further investigation.
“Brigadier General Lenard Agustin, acting commander of 7th Infantry Division added that the rights of the arrested communist terrorist are properly observed,” Hapin said. Robina Asido/DMS
