Alleged NPA killed in Camarines Norte encounter vs military

An alleged member of New People’s Army was killed in a five-minute encounter with government forces in Camarines Norte last Sunday.
1Lt. Felise Solano, public information officer of the Southern Luzon Command, said based on initial report troops were conducting security operation when they encountered around 15 rebels in the vicinity of Barangay Tuaca, Basud town.
Solano said rebels were believed to be members of Kilusang Sangay sa Platoon North (KSPN) 1, Larangan 2, Komiteng Probinsya 1 of Bicol Regional Party Committee.
She said the security operation was response to information from civilians about the presence of rebels in the area.
Solano said soldiers recovered one cal. 45 pistol, one cal. 30 carbine rifles and one hand grenade in the encounter site.
“The terrorists scampered towards different directions leaving their dead comrade behind,” she said
