At least 13,000 joined in fourth quarter nationwide quake drill

At least 13,000 people participated in the fourth quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill in different areas in the country Thursday.
The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) estimated around 13,350 people which includes government personnel, students and other civilians joined the drills.
Mark Timbal, OCD spokesman, said the simultaneous drill began at 9 am..
He said the pilot area of NSED in National Capital Region (NCR) was the Meralco Center in Ortigas, Pasig City while the ceremonial program was held at the Oriental Mindoro National High School Grandstand in Calapan City.
In his message, Timbal expressed gratitude to those who participated.
"Our drills aim to train our people to be prepared for possible earthquake. Thank you to all who participated we hope that you will continue to further develop earthquake preparedness in your homes and communities," he said. Robina Asido/DMS
