At least 200,000 persons displaced by Taal eruption: NDRRMC

Persons affected by the Taal Volcano eruption has surpassed 200,000, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Monday
According to the NDRRMC, the affected poulation in provinces of Batangas, Quezon, Laguna and Cavite has reached a total of 215,773 persons or 53,716 families.
Among the affected population, 29,424 families or 112,757 persons are in 416 evacuation centers while the 17,505 families or 69,304 individuals are served outside evacuation centers.
The NDRRMC also noted power supply within the 20 cities and municipalities in the provinces of Cavite, Laguna and Batangas has been restored as of Monday.
Areas under state of calamity include Tagaytay City, the provinces of Batangas and Cavite.
Total and partial lock down is still being implemented in Lemery, Agoncillo, Laurel, Balete, Sta. Teresita, Talisay, Taal and San Nicholas all in Batangas.
Damage to the agricultural sector, including high value crops, fisheries and livestocks in Laguna, Cavite and Batangas are estimated at P 3,215,788,882. Robina Asido.DMS
