Baguio City placed under community quarantine

BAGUIO CITY –Baguio City was placed under community quarantine on Monday after members of the city council, Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong and other agencies held an emergency meeting.

Magalong said the quarantine would not mean a lockdown as people's movements will not be totally restricted.   

Class suspension in all levels was extended until April 15.

Magalong last week ordered classes suspended from March 13 to March 22, 2020.

Continuous arrival of  travellers from Manila since Friday and rising cases of COVID -19 nationwide prompted Magalong to decide on Sunday.

Cordillera has one confirmed case of COVID-19 infection and nine persons under investigation in San Quintin, Manabo, Bangued, all in Abra,   

There are 235 persons under monitoring  in Bangued, Bucloc, Licuan-Baay, Luba, Manabo, Sallapadan towns in Abra.

Manabo town officials brought the first positive Covid19 patient to the Ilocos Training Regional Medical Center in La Union on Sunday.

Abra Governor Ma. Jocelyn Bernos imposed a provincial-wide curfew starting March 17 from 9pm-4am. DMS
