Balangiga bells finally arrive in the Philippines

Three bells from a Samar town seized by American soldiers during the 1901 Philippine-American war returned to the country on Tuesday.
A US plane carrying the bells landed at Villamor Air Base before 11 am. The C-130 plane, which came from Kadena Air Base on Okinawa was welcomed by Executive Secretary, Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana and US Ambassador to the Philippines Sung Kim.
The bells will make their final journey to Balangiga town on December 15. DMS
