Bello to ask Duterte to sack PACC commissioner
January 8, 2019
Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III is calling for Manuelito Luna's removal as Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) commissioner, pointing out his alleged lack of discretion over an ongoing probe.
In a radio interview Tuesday, Bello said he will ask President Rodrigo Duterte to sack Luna, who said the PACC is investigating Bello and two presidential appointees.
“I am going to ask the President to dismiss him from office for grave abuse of authority,” said Bello.
Luna said Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) chief Isidro Lapeña, and National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP) chairman Leonor Oralde-Quintayo, are being investigated by PACC.
“If there is a complaint, give me a chance to answer first, and not through newspapers. That is the correct process,” said Bello. DMS
