Senator Christopher "Bong" Go said on Friday there could be three contenders for the next Philippine National Police (PNP) chief.
In a text message to reporters, Go said the contenders were senior PNP officers.
Asked if Police Lieutenant General Francisco Archie Gamboa, Police Lieutenant General Camilo Pancratius Cascolan and Police Major General Guillermo Eleazar were the contenders for the chief PNP post, he said, "they are his (Duterte's) possible choices based on seniority."
Gamboa is currently the deputy chief PNP for administration; Cascolan, deputy chief PNP for operations; and Eleazar, chief directorial staff.
