Broadcaster shot dead inside vehicle in Dumaguete

A radio broadcaster was killed inside his vehicle in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental early Thursday morning.
A report from Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office identified the victim as Dindo Generoso, 67.
Initial investigation showed Generoso was driving along Hibbard Avenue from south to north direction around 7:30 am when an unidentified suspect shot him repeatedly.
Generoso was on his way to host his morning radio program when he was shot dead.
He was the second journalist murdered in the province since Edmund Sestoso on May 1, 2018.
Authorities are conducting an investigation to identify the perpetrator and the motive in killing Generoso.
According to the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP) if the death of Generoso is work-related, he would be the 14th journalist to be murdered under the Duterte administration and the 187th since 1986. Ella Dionisio/DMS
