BSP sees February inflation between 2.4% to 3.3%
February 28, 2020
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) sees February inflation settling with a range of 2.4-3.3 percent, its Department of Economic Research said Friday.
Inflation rose for the third straight month on January at 2.9 percent. Inflation figures will be released next week by the Philippine Statistics Authority.
''Lower prices of petroleum products, electricity, and rice as well as other food products are expected to temper price pressures in February,'' the forecast said.
The BSP said it ''will remain watchful of economic and financial developments to ensure that its primary mandate of price stability conducive to balanced and sustainable economic growth is achieved.'' DMS
