Cambodia eliminates Philippines from semifinals in SEA Games men’s football

The Philippine men's football team was eliminated by Cambodia from the semifinals of the 30th Southeast Asian Games through goal difference on Wednesday.
The Philippines routed Timor Leste, 6-1 in a Group A match at the Binan Football Stadium, but Malaysia scored a goal on the 89th minute despite losing to Cambodia, 1-3 at the Rizal Memorial Track-Football Stadium.
This was enough for Cambodia to get a plus six goal difference compared to the Philippines' plus five. Both teams had two wins, one loss and one draw.
Myanmar topped Group A with 10 points.
The Philippine women's football team, however, entered the semifinals by tying Myanmar for one win and one draw in the eliminations.
The Philippines will face Vietnam in the semifinals on December in Binan. DMS
