Case against cops who tried to bring illegal items inside Bilibid pushing through
November 1, 2019
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Friday said the case against the two police officers and their senior officials who allegedly tried to bring illegal items inside the New Bilibid Prison will push through.
This after the Philippine National Police- Crime Laboratory confirmed the two C2 bottles they were bringing inside jail were positive of alcohol contents.
“So the case will not push through. The case of the cigarettes and alcohol,” said Police Brigadier General Debold Sinas, the acting NCRPO director, in a press briefing.
Sinas said the Special Action Force (SAF) who caught the two policemen submitted their affidavit.
“So far the SAF confirmed about the C2 (alcohol) and cigars,” he said. “We are confirming if they caught a police officer with cellphones”.
He said the four cops will face grave misconduct cases with dismissal as the maximum penalty.
Sinas said they are still waiting for the report from the Anti-Cybercrime Group on the cellphones of the 14 cops.
Last October 25, Sinas said senior police officers may face dismissal for ordering the two cops to bring items inside New Bililid Prisons which they said was for their “personal use”.
He said in a previous briefing the 14 cops were caught outside the NBP. Ella Dionisio/DMS
