Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, Talisay City and the municipalities of Minglanilla and Consolacion remains under general community quarantine (GCQ), Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Saturday.
These areas will remain under GCQ from August 16 to August 31, as decided by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Infectios Diseases on Friday.
Placed under GCQ were Nueva Ecija, Batangas, Quezon, the task force said.
The rest of the country is under modified general community quarantine.
The National Task Force and the Department of Interior and Local Government are directed to ensure areas flagged for local action shall implement strict lockdown of areas in line with the zoning containment strategy, strict enforcement of minimum public health standards and intensified tracing and quarantine of close contacts and isolation of confirmed cases.
Cebu City was placed under enhanced community quarantine last June after COVID-19 cases rose. It has reported lesser cases since then. DMS
